One day Pierre Schaeffer, director of the GRM got a telephone call and was asked to found the IRCAM together with Iannis Xenakis and Pierre Boulez. He refused. A few years later, when the IRCAM was officially founded, it was presented at the press conference by two musicians: Xenakis and Boulez… and more unknown stories…

Finally a concert again of Reinhold Friedl and Michael Vorfeld: they released their first highly regarded CD “au default du silence” in 2000 on the label “trente oiseaux “of Bernhard Guenter: self-contructed stringed instruments (Michael Vorfeld) & inside-piano (Reinhold Friedl), pure sound! The duo then toured worldwide and released different CDs with Bernhard Guenter and worked also with the Australian electronic pioneer Philip Samatzis. And now back on stage as a duo!

Recorded, mixed and mastered by Rashad Becker. Friedl plays one of the last surviving Neo-Bechsteins, an electric piano built by Bechstein in cooperation with Siemens and Telefunken in 1929/30. He composed this musicat ZKM Karlsruhe and premiered it at MaerzMusik Berlin some years ago. After touring with the instrument in Europe, Friedl produced this new version at Elektronisches Studio der Technischen Universität Berlin in 2012.
