Together with Frank Gratkowski, Reinhold Friedl is invited this year to teach improvisation at Impuls Festival Graz, Austria.

Serbian microtonal folk songs are contemporary music! zeitkratzer performs its own interpretations of Serbian dirges and war songs from the First World War together with Svetlana Spajić: She is the most outstanding specialist in Serbian vocal tradition with its characteristic hypnotic dissonances. Guest soloists Svetlana Spajić and Dragana Tomić, along with the 82-year-old Obrad Milić.

Astonishing, that all the great avant-garde Jazz musicians mostly didn’t compose electronic music, bust they simply had no access to the experimental studios. On the other hand, the black community declined electronic music. But there are incredible, mostly unknown hidden pieces to discover: by Muhal Richard Abrams for example or Roland Kirk – and more known ones by Sun Ra…
